For dog lovers, the internet is filled with entertainment gold. Social media sites, in particular, are brimming with canine celebrities that we could watch all day. Most of them are dog models that use their good looks and adorable personalities to influence us into patronizing the brands they endorse.

As you spend hours entertaining yourself with rare-colored Frenchies or dogs with hilarious personalities, have you ever wondered how much those dog models make?

How much a dog model makes is based on several factors, including how active they are and how compelling their content is. Most importantly, the more popular they are, the higher fees they can command.

Generally, social media influencers are categorized into four types based on follower count. Here are the numbers according to a reputable pet influencer agency:

Mega Influencers

Mega dog influencers are those who have over a million followers (some over 10 million!). They’re the pros, the A-listers that have no trouble commanding around $15,000 per sponsored post.

Doug the Pug, for example, has over 4 million followers. He has multiple modeling contracts and is popular enough to have his own merchandise.

At over 1 million followers, Manny the Frenchie has also risen to social media superstardom. Apart from his incredible talent for posing, Manny is known for his charity work.

Macro Influencers

Macro dog influencers are true stars with 100,000 to 1 million followers. They are estimated to command up to $3,500 per sponsored post.

Among them is Crusoe the Dachshund. Apart from having over 800,000 followers, Crusoe is a New York Times bestselling author.

Bodhi the ShibaInu, also known as Men’s Wear Dog, is another lovable macro influencer. Posing with his fashionable OOTDs has allowed him to amass over 400,000 followers and several deals with men’s apparel companies.

Micro Influencers

Micro dog influencers are rising stars. They have between 10,000 to 100,000 followers that allow them to command up to $1,000 per sponsored post or in exchange for an assortment of free products.

Boulder the Blue Staffy shares his Instagram account with his equally handsome human brother Harley. Together, they have amassed over 95,000 followers.

Prince the Chihuahua is also quickly rising to the top. Along with his Chihuahua brothers, he has over 24,000 followers who undoubtedly love seeing them all pose with adorable dog clothes.

Nano Influencers

Nano dog influencers are just starting out but still provide incredible value to brands. They have less than 10,000 followers but can still command up to $100 per Instagram image post or exchange for products.

Kingsley the Mini Golden Doodle might be a neophyte, but he’s a total pro. He’s a gorgeous dog with beautiful photos taken mostly from road trips he has with his family. There’s no doubt that his over 3,500-follower count will continue to grow.

Even at less than 1,000 followers, Dood the Mini Husky is showing huge potential as a dog model. His handsome face and captivating eyes are definitely the makings of a future star.

Before you send in your resignation letter and work on turning your pup into a dog influencer, understand that succeeding in this field takes a lot of time and effort. You’ll need to be on top of dog fashion trends, constantly produce compelling content, and connect with your followers. If you do it right, however, all the work will surely pay off. Plus, your dog will be your colleague and business partner. Isn’t that every dog lover’s dream?
